Getting To St. Kitts & Nevis By Sea - There are two deep-water ports located on the Basseterre harbor – the Birdrock Deepwater Port and Port Zante. The Birdrock Port, which is situated on the eastern side of the Basseterre harbor, is used mainly for freight, but handles the overflow when there are more cruise ships than Porte Zante can handle.

 

Upon disembarkation, cruise ship visitors are greeted by cultural acts, displays and exhibitions, as well as various ground operators offering various island excursions. The duty-free shopping and restaurants in close vicinity as well.

Public Transportation - There isn't a single traffic light in St. Kitts. There isn't that much traffic, but there is just about every means of transportation imaginable for land and sea travel, Including ATVs, scooters and the famous ferry service.

 

Ferry - The ferry ride between St. Kitts and Nevis takes about 45 minutes and provides beautiful views of both islands. They provide service between Basseterre and Charlestown, leaving from the Southeast Peninsula and transporting vehicles to Nevis and back.
