How to CHASE a Waterfall

Not sure how to chase the waterfalls? Here it is; all the details you need to start the CHASE!

Trafalgar Falls - Dominica (One of our Dominica MUSTS!!! - Click here for full list)

Location : Eastern edge of the Morne Trois National Park

How do I get there? A 20 minute drive from Roseau, followed by a quick 10 minute walk

Height : Father Falls 125 ft, Mother Falls 75 ft

Degree of difficulty : Easy

What to pack? Bug spray, water shoes

Insider Tips : No flip-flops, Very misty falls so protect non-waterproof items, Don't miss thermal pools, Least crowded before 10am and after 4pm

Location : Morne Trois National Park (Laudat)

How do I get there? Take a 1.5 hour hike through Morne Trois Piton National Park to arrive here (hike starts at 1600 ft, goes up to 2200 ft, then drops down to the falls)

Height : 280 ft

Degree of difficulty : Medium

What to pack? Comfortable hiking shoes, water

Insider Tips : Take a dip in the pool below, less crowded that Trafalgar Falls

Somerset Falls - Jamaica

Location : Hope Bay Portland, Eastern end of Island

How do I get there? Take a boat ride up the Daniel River, then a short walk and you will arrive at the Hidden Falls

Height : (Hidden Falls 32 ft)

Degree of difficulty : Easy

What to pack? Bug spray

Insider Tips : Take a dive from the Hidden Falls into the 20 ft deep pool below, Go on a raft through the caves, Good for bird-watching

Cane River Falls - Jamaica

Location : Bull Bay, stone's throw away from Kingston

How do I get there? From Cane River Park, take a series of steep steps down through a narrow walkway, you'll find the falls tucked behind some large boulders

Height : 15-25 ft

Degree of difficulty : Easy

What to pack? Swimsuit

Insider Tips : Take a swim or dive into the pool below (The Falls are said to have been reggae artist Bob Marley's favorite place to wash his dreads)

Location : Grand Etang National Park

How do I get there? A 45 minute hike through a banana, cocoa and nutmeg plantation will take you to the first two falls, another few minutes hike through a shallow, fast funning river and you'll get to the third falls (Honeymoon Falls)

Height : 10-40 ft

Degree of difficulty : Difficult

What to pack? Sturdy shoes

Insider Tips : Though challenging, the upper falls (Honeymoon) is worth the extra trek, Can get muddy if it rains

Concord Falls (3 falls in 1) - Grenada

Location : Western side of the Island, in the Forest Reserve. 8 miles north of St. George's

How do I get there? The first falls (Concord) is easily accessible by a set of stairs right from the road. You can choose 2 separate trails for the 2nd and 3rd Falls. The 2nd (Au Coin) is reached after a 35 min hike through a nutmeg plantation and 3rd Falls (Fontainbleu) is reached after a challenging 30 min hike

Height : 35 ft- 65 ft

Degree of difficulty : Concord- Easy, Au Coin- Medium, Fontainbleu- Difficult

What to pack? Water & snacks, Swimwear, Hiking shoes, Bug spray

Insider Tips : Hire a guide if you plan to visit the 3rd Falls (Fontainbleu), Swim in the pool below

Falls of Baleine - St. Vincent

Location : Northern tip of the leeward coast

How do I get there? Arrive by boat then take a 10 minute walk to the Falls

Height : 60 ft

Degree of difficulty : Medium

What to pack? Swimsuit

Insider Tips : Take a dip in the freshwater pool below

Trinity Falls - St. Vincent

Location : Set in a deep volcanic canyon

How do I get there? From Kingstown, a 2 hour drive then a 20 minute hike through the lush rainforest and you'll arrive here

Height : 40 ft

Degree of difficulty : Medium

What to pack? Water & snacks, Hiking shoes

Insider Tips : Best to go on a guided tour, 4-wheel vehicle needed to access the trailhead
